1. Success in the online space is not a conditional inference of success in Offline space.
2. Niche sites can take a walk. India isn't UK. Jobseekers do not have any regional/industry/functional-area affiliation. (Eg: Dice and ITPeople both failed to take off. City specific jobsites from Irishjobs is not even visible. Testingjobz is another example of "failed to take off" category)
3. Indian Employers dont experiment by spending cash. Nobody will even try testing a new jobsite for free. Since the growth in no of hiring is faster, companies do not have the time to waste on experimenting. They need fresh Just-in-time solutions.
4. It might sound easier to say "5% of the large market is good enough". Gimme a break. You got to spend as much as naukri or monster to even think about 0.1% market share. So stop this "Niche jobsite" gas. Its not gonna work in India. Period.
5. Many large recruitment agencies have failed to take off in the jobsite space. Go4career (People One), Careermosaicindia (TMI Networks), Karmaquest ( ABC ) , Prizedjobs (Head Hunter& Sify) etc... Why?? Because they dont understand Internet :p
6. Many media/publication companies have failed too. That’s a long list :D
7. One needs to have a strong understanding about Internet space, Employer psyche and last but not the least "understanding the sales process of a jobsite"!
8. The amount of risks in launching a jobsite is far higher than perceived Risk ( copied line...but still holds good )
My Advise for others : Stop launching jobsite and look at something else. It’s already a packed zone.

One funny thing is that even newspapers are not paid. I mean no newspaper would survive without advertising revenues. By paying one buck for a newspaper that requires at least 9 to 10 rupees to be made, people are not paying for the content. So, why speak about paying for online news? "

" We use the internet to achieve two primary business objectives: branding campaigns and new customer acquisition campaigns. The measurable nature of the medium is one of the main reasons we are able to leverage the internet to achieve these twin business objectives. "
