Gurgaon-based Via Human Resource Solution has said that its online venture CoCubes.com, which aims to connect companies and colleges for campus recruitments, has so far signed deal with over 50 universities and colleges to connect them with more than 20 corporate bodies for campus recruitments.
According to Via Human Resource, CoCubes has till now conducted recruitments for large companies in over 100 campuses, thus providing employment to about 250 candidates. CoCubes.com plans to reach around 500 institutions in 2009.
“Our vision is to bring every college in the country on the online platform to provide equal opportunity to students in terms of job opportunities and knowledge,” Harpreet S Grover, founder and CEO, CoCubes.com has told AlooTechie. “Since recruiting companies are mostly located in the metros, there is a need for an online and SMS-enabled interactive platform to connect colleges and companies.”
CoCubes.com ties up with colleges and lists profiles of their students including video and text resumes. However, no individual job seeker can search for openings or post the CV. Thus, the data of jobseekers available on CoCubes is validated as it comes from colleges.
Companies can get in touch with CoCubes and list their openings. “Whenever a new job listing is posted, we send SMSes to all institutions so that they can decide if they want their students to be recruited by that company,” informed Vibhore Goyal, founder and CTO, CoCubes.com.
Speaking about the competition, Harpreet S Grover has said, “Our competitors are largely existing processes which are inefficient but have been working for the last 10 years. Secondly, there are a number of consultants which take over the task of connection in an offline way.”
“Our key differentiator has been our technology platform where we map the entire campus recruitment on a yearly basis for corporates and colleges. This includes tools to help companies see how many students are interested in their firm, to managing online interviews,” Harpreet Grover has added.
According to Grover, the main challenge CoCubes.com has encountered is to increase awareness about what they are doing. “Many colleges and companies are accustomed to paying hefty fees to placement consultant on success basis. But working on a model which is probably 1/10th of the total cost but is given upfront is something that more and more companies and colleges are getting used to,” Grover has said.
CoCubes.com was launched in May 2008. According to the company, the term CoCubes derives its origin from the first two alphabets of the three words -- connecting, colleges and companies. For providing its services, CoCubes charges companies on a per college per annum basis. Colleges are charged annually for registering on the site. According to Vibhore Goyal, CoCubes is close to achieving operational break even.
