25 September, 2008
Asian Paints’ website AsianPaints.com has received Web Marketing Association’s Web Award 2008 for outstanding achievement in web development in the Consumer Goods Standard of Excellence category. According to Indigo Consulting , which has designed and developed AsianPaints.com, the website scored more points than the industry category average and the Web awards average.
“We are indeed happy to have received this award, especially considering that we were competing against entries from 47 countries,” Amit Syngle, vice president, sales and marketing, Asian Paints, has said. “The award is also an apt acknowledgment of the efforts and capabilities of the team at Indigo Consulting.”
“We firmly believe that the internet medium presents a very exciting channel to interact with our consumers, and is going to be the preferred media for evolved consumers involved in the process of doing up their homes, hence it forms a very important part of our communication strategy,” Amit Syngle has added.
Pragati Ray-D’souza, creative director, Indigo Consulting, has said, “It is an honour to be recognized by an international jury and the recognition, doubtless, motivates us to continue setting the standard for world-class websites that deliver business results. We thank Asian Paints for the opportunity and their open-minded support throughout the project.”
Now in its 12th year, the Web Awards is the premier annual website award competition that names the Best Web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development. This year’s awards saw nominations from interactive agencies across 47 countries. The Web Marketing Association, founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for internet marketing and development of the best websites, is the producer of the Web Award Competition.

Alootechie folks needs some content to fill their site. So here is one. Aloo itself needs a lot of fixing in their own site (Try searching for indigo). You can imagine the quality of articles.
Are you kidding me? The main page does not render properly in Firefox 3. The whole thing has such a bad stench. Nothing creative, nothing new. Looks like every other website.
Please check out indigo's website and you can see the mediocre work done on their own site. What's up with the small fonts which requires a magnifying glass?
