Communicate2 is now Google Analytics Authorized Consultant

17 October, 2008
by Satrajit Sen

Mumbai-based search marketing company Communicate2 says it has become the first Indian company to become Google Analytics Authorized Consultant (GAAC). Google Analytics is a tool that helps marketers track the performance of their online campaigns. In order to qualify as a GAAC certified company, an agency should have expertise in web analytics and should offer Analytics services to its customers.

While talking about the advantages of this certification, Vivek Bhargava, founder and managing director of Communicate2, has told AlooTechie, “Measuring the value of a campaign is a critical factor in the industry. This certification will enable various agencies to develop campaigns that are contextual and dynamically priced, the backbone of which is going to be measurement and analytics. I think being GAAC certified gives a competitive edge to our search clients.”

Sharing his experiences in the process of attaining this certification, Vivek Bhargava said, “It has been six months of rigorous interviews and online tests. Then there were personal interviews where I was called in by Google. After that we attained this feat.”

Bhargava further said that Indian agencies have failed to understand the importance of Analytics and thus he plans to train 160 of his employees in the same field. “I would also like to start a training programme on Analytics on any given platform.” The company also plans to tie up with SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization) to organise Analytics events in India.

Communicate2 services clients that include ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, LIC Housing Finance, Reliance Money, Bajaj Allianz and Kingfisher Airlines. In June 2008, Aegis Media, a $20-billion global communications group, acquired a strategic stake in the search marketing company.

Hello Vivek,
Thanks for your reply, I know what GAP is as I am myself one, but in the press release it was mentioned that your company was first in India to get the GAP qualified company status aswell, which was an incorrect statement and which has been addressed by the editor as he has removed this aleady, I am sure that you are India's First to attain GACC but Not GAP...

ust some PR release. Who gives this certifications? And what happens if you get it? Do you get some proprietary tools? Or you get a special insight into Google algorithms?

No not really . What it allows you to implement Google Analytics better. Which is a measurement tool-it has nothing to do with SEM or SEO but how you measure web traffic. And this is something with Overture and Webtrends does much better-though at a higher price.

According to the Google website "That's why we established the Google Analytics Authorized Consultant program. Whether you have an established in-house team or are just getting started, our partners give you the advantage of their years of web analytics experience. We have partners in many regions offering a wide variety of services including

There is a reason why C2 is the first -no other agency is interested in this certification. I have interacted with Vivek, and they are just a SEM body shop like many others. Hire cheap guys and have them do PPC campaigns-and Vivek started doing this after failing to run a online ad agency and a online media company and many other things

Articles like this are a joke. What next-some agency puts in a new coffee machine and you have a allotechie release

thanks anish, appreciate your comment.

thanks new funda - Ad words Qualified company is quite easy, as there is no interviews, separate online tests (all you need is 5 gaps in your team), and it happens naturally. GAAC is different ball game, we are fortunate that we were able to earn the certification.

Dear Rakesh, i know the terms are quite confusing, GAP stands for Google Advertising Professional - which most agencies have in tens, c2 has probably closer to 100. GAAC - is "Google Authorised Analytics Consultant" - in that we are the only one in India at the moment.

Cheers
Vivek
