CyberMedia Careers shuts down, migrates users to TimesJobs

28 July, 2008
IT jobs portal CyberMedia Careers (formerly Cyber Media Dice Careers) has decided to vacate the online recruitment space, and has transferred its candidates’ database to TimesJobs.com, a job portal owned by Times Business Solutions.

Recently, CyberMedia group founder Pradeep Gupta acquired the stake of Dice India Holdings in CyberMediaDice.com, a joint venture launched by the specialty media house CyberMedia and the Indian subsidiary of US-based Dice Holdings in October 2004. Following the change in ownership pattern, CyberMedia Dice Careers was renamed as CyberMedia Careers with CyberMedia India and Pradeep Gupta as the key stakeholders.

Timesjob is the worst job site ever.. They dont even know the meaning of permission marketing..

So what they got deep pockets.. they should any given day shut down cos they dont understand the online business.

At the first sign of sinking, it's time to jump ship. That's what happened here.

Why are you digging into these old articles and trying hard to continue a dead conversation?

Just because Times took over Cybermeda, it dosent make them No.1 portal, Naukri is still the Industry leader then comes Monster, They are and they will be in No.1 and No.2 Position, as they got advantage of time with them. Naukri is more than a decade old site and monster ventured into indian market in 2001. Times started their operations only by early 2004.

Dear Guest,

It wasn’t Monster and Jobstreet, It was Monster and Jobsahead (Prob on of the best jobsite way back 2004.) Jobstreet got sold to TV18 Group in 2006.

No wonder Cybermedia got merged with Timesjobs, bec times got deep pockets and Cybermedia was at the verge of closing down.

As some one rightly pointed out, clickjobs was one of the best designed website, But Best design and strong sales team alone would not help a jobsite to survive in this highly competitive market, must also have money power and long term objective too.

Heard Clickjobs is working on some online sales model, got to wait and watch how its gonna kick off.

Perhaps there has been a greater impact on other job portals, or more of an impact on a vertical specific portal like CyberMedia Dice.

One wicket gone...who's next ?

maybe...CLICKJOBS. heard that thr deal with ADAG did'nt get thru and they mite bite the dust anytime now.

if the superbly well designed site....and best UI job portal can face a situation like this...what cud be the reasons??

i feel ...most of the times best sites get into ths situations...if thr sales & mktg think tank does'nt deliver results.

Whenever two sites have merged its caused a downfall. Eg Monster and Jobstreet.
Also Cybermedia hardly had any database and there would be a lot of duplications....so not going to help much!!
