Directi launches online graphic and user experience design competition DesignChef

Internet products firm Directi has launched DesignChef, an online graphic and user experience design competition that aims to foster talent in the user experience and visual design sphere and also help develop a self sustaining community of students and professionals eager to share ideas and foster innovation.

According to Directi, the first competition is open from July 1, 2009 through August 1, 2009. The top three designers in both the Graphic and UX competitions will win Rs 20000, Rs 10000 and Rs 5000 respectively, six prizes in total for both challenges.

The judging panel includes Anirudha Joshi, associate professor, IDC, IIT Bombay; Ninad Raval, user experience manager, Directi; Shailendra Salekar, senior graphic designer, Directi; and Amit Klien, product manager, Directi.

While talking about the competition, Bhavin Turakhia, founder and CEO, Directi, has said, “Having been in the internet products space for over a decade, we could see the need for a common platform for both design professionals and students to collaborate, compete and be rewarded for their efforts.”
