DoubleClick Performics Affiliate renamed as Google Affiliate Network
08 July, 2008
Google has launched an affiliate advertising network called Google Affiliate Network, earlier known as DoubleClick Performics Affiliate, which allows online publishers to get paid for every successful sale transactions that their websites bring to advertisers. Google acquired online advertising firm DoubleClick in March 2008.
Through Google Affiliate Network, advertisers can open their ads to all publishers in the network, or select specific publishers that match their criteria. “Google Affiliate Network is currently a separate product from AdWords and AdSense,” Google has said, adding, “As with AdSense, publishers must apply and be accepted into the network.”

One can’t keep on doing the same stuff over and over again across all kinds of brands. Every brand has a unique feature and this needs to be attributed through innovative marketing initiatives. Unless the people working in this medium can innovate, spends will not grow on internet. "
Can a publisher having 3 Adsense Ads slot on his site, still could use this new ad network? I am confused...
After the success of the Google Site Targeting, guess this was the most radical step of google.
Am completely in to test this interface, have had multiple campaigns on the site targeting with low CPM and higher reach and frequency and definitely increased footfalls on the advertiser's website.
The options for targeting are also interesting, am sure the affiliate netowrk will be equally user friendly. Its good to test it in evolved markets like the US but guess for affiliate UK would be more challenging market to tesgt waters.
Hope to use it soon.
It was well expected. The only thing which is not clear is that why Google is launching this network for USA based merchant only (as of now)!!Why not to all other countries.
