E-shopping may surge 180% in metros during Oct-Nov 2008: Assocham

Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) has estimated that e-shopping will surge 180 per cent in the metros during the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali this year due to security reasons.

The chamber has said that e-shopping during October-November 2007 had impacted shopkeepers’ sales in major hubs of economic activities to the extent of Rs 5,500 crore. This year, traders may lose Rs 15,000 crore to online shopping. [Source: Economic Times ]
