Games2win develops social games benchmark, VICTORY

02 February, 2010
Games2win.com has developed a global social games benchmark to demystify the success of social games. The social games benchmark is based on Viral Element, International Appeal, Competitive Element, Task Orientation, Originality, Regular Habit Forming and Youth Appeal (VICTORY) of a typical social game that make it successful.

“The business model of all social apps is to make revenue from consumers and that’s only possible when there are millions of excited gamers who can’t get enough of the game and keep coming back for more. ‘VICTORY’ can be the benchmark to ensure a rigorous approach to achieving the financial goals behind social gaming apps,” according to Games2win.

Alok Kejriwal, CEO, Games2win, has said, “It’s a simple thumb rule that could easily be remembered by gaming enthusiasts, online game companies and venture capitalists to do dip stick measures on upcoming games and almost use this as a ‘predictometer’ allowing social gaming stake holders to empirically measure the potential success of their social games.”

Using its social games benchmark, Games2win has created a list of the top 10 social gaming apps in the world. Mafia Wars has topped the list, followed by FarmVille and Cafe World. All the top three social games have been developed by US-based casual games developer Zynga. Other social games included in the list are Pet Society, Happy Aquarium, YoVille, Zynga Poker, FishVille, PetVille and Farm Town.

This is definitely a great move by games2win. The way social networking games such as Mafia wars, Farm ville, cafe world are becoming popular, is just amazing. Infact such games have now become part and parcel of social networking sites cause of its usage. If games2win can hold the users, it will be really good for them.
