Government asked to probe website that claims to sell tigers online
11 September, 2008
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has asked the government of India to investigate a website, BuyTigers.com which claims to sell tigers online.
“We have been shipping tigers worldwide since 1984, giving our lucky customers the chance to own the most fashionable animal in earth,” boasts BuyTigers.com. “We ship the tigers via sea everywhere in the world.”
PETA has requested the government to investigate the matter and take appropriate steps to prevent trade of these animals as tigers are protected under Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. [Source: Sindh Today ]

"
One can’t keep on doing the same stuff over and over again across all kinds of brands. Every brand has a unique feature and this needs to be attributed through innovative marketing initiatives. Unless the people working in this medium can innovate, spends will not grow on internet. "
The owner of this website seems to be an Italian, though the address and the contact details that i extracted out from a business domain name registry can be forged. Its heartening that the animal that is of immense significance to our ecosystem is being herded as a pet by the seeming people who are violating the baisc tenet of human debt to nature. The details found in the registry are hereunder just in case someone wants to take affirmative action.
