IAMAI invites startups in the online and mobile VAS space to join as members

05 November, 2009
Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), which primarily represents mature businesses in the internet and mobile value added services space, has now opened its doors to startups in the online and mobile VAS segments and launched a three-month special drive to recruit startups as members. IAMAI hopes to recruit at least 50 startups during this period.

“After five years we have been able to create a strong internal infrastructure to be useful to the startups and we thought this would be the right time for us to extend our support to them,” Subho Ray, president, IAMAI, has said, adding, “There was no point in reaching out to them till such time as we were able to be of use to them.”

IAMAI, which was founded in January 2004 by leading portals in India, hopes that the inclusion of startups will enrich the organisation’s knowledge base and make its workings more innovative. Reaching out to startups is a key element in IAMAI long-term strategy to include all stake-holders in the digital space such as telecom operators, venture funds, ISPs in addition to its existing constituency of online and mobile value added services companies within its ambit.

IAMAI is a great boys club where they get happy by giving speeches to the same group by the same speakers.

U mean to say they wont insist on 10lac rupees as fees and won't insist that rediff and bharatmatrimony call the shot? IAMAI should be called rediff-bharatmatrimony-shaadi.com alliance association
