IBNLive.com launches new features to boost engagement with users

15 May, 2008
IBNLive.com, a news portal from Web 18, has launched two features Mindgames and Active Search. According to the company, these features have been launched in a bid to boost engagement with users along with providing them the daily news and breaking stories.

The Mindgames section on IBNLive.com features Daily Crosswords under five categories general, business, sports, cricket and entertainment and a Sudoku puzzle, powered by mindgame developer Core Crosswords & More. The Crosswords are based on current happenings for which the related articles and news reports can be found on the IBNLive website.

The Active Search application allows users to search the news, videos, blogs and the web sections of the news portal through sub topics that are related to the original search term. For example, a search on cricket in the News section yielded results that were divided into sub categories such as ‘Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth’, ‘Ricky Ponting’ and ‘Shah Rukh Khan’. This application has been built by the in-house technology team of IBNLive.com.

Neeraj Sanan, marketing head, Web18, has said, “Web 18 has always aimed at providing highest level of interactive experience to its users on its various portals. With these newly added innovative applications at IBNLive.com, we are confident that the users will have great online experience as these features will serve as ideal tools for information as well as recreation.”
