02 August, 2008
Hyderabad-based InvestmentYogi FinAdvisory Services has launched InvestmentYogi.com, a personal finance portal that aims to help users manage their money, plan their financial future and navigate through market fluctuations.
InvestmentYogi.com also offers social networking features like user review and discussion. The website has also introduced a tax planning application called TaxYogi to help users prepare their income tax returns.
“InvestmentYogi is the first personal finance portal for India to weave social networking, analytics and video into traditional tools and services for financial planning, taxes and investing,” Mamtha Banerjee, CEO, InvestmentYogi, has said. “We have engaged with partners to provide reliable information to our consumers.”
The company is looking to raise $5 million (around Rs 20 crore) venture capital fund by the end of 2008. “We currently have enough seed to take us through the product completion. The series-A VC fund will be utilised to grow further,” Sanjay Joshi, CTO, InvestmentYogi, has said. [Source: Business Standard]

very very interesting....this sector is witnessing lot of momentum - but this one seems to be very well executed - team is solid ex-travelocity- but surprisingly all CTO/engineers came together to start a finance portal !
feel this one has the potential - unlike few others with similar plans but far poor execution (including iim-a guys startup aisapaisa.com which is a really poor execution compared to this one...thnk fod iim-a allows entrepreneurs to come back for campus placements next year ;-)
