Kerals.com accused of plagiarism, bullying bloggers

16 June, 2008
Inji Pennu, a blogger who blogs at Ginger and Mango, has accused Kerals.com, a website that targets people from Kerala and Malayali speakers, of copying content “not from few blogs but from around 300 blogs”. According to Pennu, when asked by bloggers to remove the copied content, Kerals.com started threatening, cyber stalking and abusing them.

“This comes from a company that claims to employ more than 700 people and claims to have offices world over. You would be surprised and shocked at the language they have used and the threat and abuse they showered to bloggers,” adds Inji Pennu who has reproduced the email trail between her and Kerals.com.

“The case of Inji Pennu and Kerals.com is taking the blogosphere by storm,” Neha Viswanathan, a prominent blogger who blogs at GlobalVoicesOnline.org, writes. “While content-theft from blogs is not really new, the sheer tactics and threats of violence from the content-stealing website has ruffled quite a few feathers.”

Shame on kerals.com . Plagiarism should be condemned everywhere. Its brave of Inji to have brought this to light despite all the threating emails. Its heartening to know that this can be dealt much more effectively in US where both Inji is and the San Jose number of that 'Terrorizer' is.
