Kolkata Knight Riders enables fans to receive team pics on mobile phones

15 May, 2008
Shahrukh Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders has partnered with MobShare, a mobile media sharing service provider, to enable cricket fans receive exclusive photos of the team on their GPRS-enabled mobile phones.

According to MobShare, Shahrukh Khan will click pictures of the team and fans and upload them on the Kolkata Knight Riders website. The website users who have opted to receive these pictures on their mobile handsets will then receive an SMS with a link to the image in real-time. When clicked, the link will take the user to a WAP page, which displays the photo along with a banner advertisement.

MobShare now wants to introduce similar service for the fans of other IPL teams as well. Vivek Francis, business development manager, MobShare, has told AlooTechie, “We are currently in talks with more IPL teams to roll out this feature on their websites too.” MobShare is owned by MobMe Wireless Solutions.
