Lalu Prasad's blog being used to air complaints about railway services

Railways Minister Lalu Prasad's blog appears to have turned into a platform for people to air complaints about railway services, be it the food quality, cleanliness or security. There are also requests for trains on new routes, reports Economic Times.
“Our train was 11 hours delayed. The station was horribly crowded but to our surprise I could see only one porter. The security person did not allow the passengers to drag their heavy baggage on the wheels over the ramp, but forced them to lift them up all the way over the 30 odd stairs. Can you look into the situation?” asks Bankim Parikh who uses Lalu Prasad's blog to narrate his family's nightmarish experience at the Jammu railway station.
Lalu Prasad recently launched his blog on Mypopkorn.com. So far, he has written three posts. In the latest post Lalu Prasad has talked about his desire to play a politician in Shahrukh Khan's film. i want to complaint abt the preparation of chart.The rule says chart should be prepared b4 4 hour of train departure but now a days they are preparing just half hour from train departure in this case person leaving far in big city may miss train.Rail minister should take strong action in this regard.

Just travelled yesterday and was surprised to find the extra middle Side berth still available in train Train No-6178 Rockfort Express (Chennai to Kumbakonnam.
Railways Ministry had announced removal of Middle Berth from 1st April, 09 , but still i could find the extra berth being booked again. I had to suffer because of this.
Could any railway dept give explanation on this

With due respect, we here by submit the following points on the above noted subject for your favourable consideration & early n/action please.
FOR STARTING A NEW EXPRESS TRAINS & ADDING EXTRA COACHES FOR GENERAL PUBLIC ON DELHI-AMRITSAR ROUTE
Your goodself is reqested to start a new Janta express train for general type of passengers (without any reservation/sleeper coaches) from Delhi to Amritsar & back; which is very essential on this route,as all other express trains on this route are overcrowded ,which are having a few general coaches,as a result of which,passengers especially,like senior citizens,children & ladies feel inconvinience& some times got injured in traveling. To overcome this difficulty please start a new Janta Express Train (without any reservation coaches) for general passengers & further requested to add/increase four to five general coaches with express trains running on this route so as to avoid / check havvy rush in the express trains.
FOR EXTENDING NEW EXPRESS TRAINS LIKE GARIB-RATH & JAN_SHATABDI ON DELHI-AMRITSAR ROUTE.
Keeping in view the difficulties faced by the general public ,due to havvy rush of passengers in the trains,we further request to start / extend new trains between Delhi & Amritsar & back,namely GARIB-RaTH & JAN-SHATABDI,alikewise these trains already ply on the route between Delhi & Chandigharh.
TO REGULARIZE / MAKE DAILY SERVICE OF TRAIN NO.4037 UP & 4038 DOWN (DELHI-PATHANKOTE EXPRESS)
Yourgoodself is requested ,keeping in view the above explained situation , to regularize daily the train no. 4037 UP & 4038 DOWN(Delhi-Pathankote) express & make its daily service ,instead of on alternate days ,as running now.This can be easily done as UP & DOWN side both trains are different,alikewise of other express trains ; like MALWA , DADAR etc.trains.
TO CUT SHORT THE ROUTE OF SAHID EXPRESS (PREVIOUSLY FLYING MAIL EXPRESS )
Sahid express train is plying / running between Bihar state - some station to Amritsar & usually this train becomes late for many hrs due to long distance.
So, this train route may be cutshort to run between Delhi & Amritsar only, to restore its previous route
RESERVATION IN THE WAITING LIST
We have generally noted,that while getting reservation of seats in the trains like SHANE-PUNJAB (train no.2497 up & 2498 down ) etc.,waiting list is reached upon to 400 numbers ,in that case railways generally charge reservation charges from passengers without making any arrangements / adding extra coaches for their sittings, as a result passengers feel inconvinience ,due to nonavailability of seats ,we suggest alternatively to allow such type of passengers(waiting list) to travel in other trains or add extra coaches , failing which railways should not issue reservation tickets on the waiting .
EXEMPTION /REDUCTION OF FINE FOR NOT HOLDING SUPERFAST CHARGE TICKET & MAKING ITS AVAILABILITY ON THE PLATFORM
ITSELF (FROM MACHINES , BOOTHS ETC.)
MAKING PROPER ARRANGEMENTS OF WATER & CLEANLINESS IN THE RAILWAYS

sir,
As you well aware that there are thousands of complaints against the railway TTE's as they are not giving berth/reserved seat to wait list ticket holders even if their turn comes. This is because the passenger do not get the correct information about latest position of the wait list tickets till the journey starts. And more over they are not allowed to entrain also. This make easy for the TTE's to give the berth/seat to a fresh passenger even and they can make money.
To eradicate these type of bribing facility, I suggest that the wait list trimmed position should be made available to the passengers in the web site daily as done in airlines. Now the wait list no. on booking date is shown till the date of travel. Even the train has started, they shows as "chart not prepared!" . S.M.S facility may also be used to inform the passenger about the confirmation of wait list tickets.

Hello Sir/Madam,
I am frequent railway passenger. I was travelling by TAPOVAN EXP. on 17/04/09 between Manman to CST Mumbai, my seat no. was D4 - 60,my ticket no. was 46329061. There was not a single fan was running in D4 coach, so we contacted to the concern railway person and requested him to please start Fans in the coach he said to start the fans we required one key by using which only we can start the fan, and I do't have that key but i will tell the person who is having that keys, and will send him in this coach withing 5 min. I am very sorry to say that not the concern persons with the keys cor not that person with whom we(passengers travelling in D4 coach) have talked come again, or show face to solve the problem. In the whole journey we have to travel in hot boiling like coach. One of old lady passenger suffered some chest pain due to over heat, but we are all helpless as we can't do anything to start the fans in the coach.
I just want to know who is responsible for this?, are you going to take any responsibility for this?. Every where in country Rail Minister Mr. Lalu Yadav is praising rail management(miss management) all the time , is this kind of facility you are providingng to passengers. Which corrective actions you are taking against this incident? Who will pay for inconvineance?

In this electrion session, I wanted to go to home.
I wanted to book tatkal ticket for date 19-april on train 2149 PA PATNA SUP EX (Pune-Patna). After failure of getting ticket on two previous dates, even though going on railway station booking counter, I wanted to try from internet booking through www.irctc.co.in.
But I soon as logged into the system at 8.00 am O'clock sharp, and tried to find the status of available ticket, I was shocked to find that, there is waiting list of 71 ticket on first day of ticket booking.
I want to complain that, there is possibility of some back window ticket booking with the help of some corrupted officers through which black ticket are sold, even before common consumer can book ticket from Railway booking counter or www.irctc.co.in.
Suhhestion for improvement
1#- While showing available ticket (on internet search result) also show timestamp. This will help to find the seat availablility with respect to time. If consumer wish to use this as record for complain, the result with timestamp can be produced as a record. (please see the suggested change in attacked image)
2#- Show the available tatkal ticket status at source station booking counter through "Large size electronics public display" on ticket booking opening day (i.e 5 days before train departure date), starting 7 o'clock. So that people can verify the booking trends, and people don't have to wait in queue just to find that, he/she will not get ticket any more.
3#- Run more number of special trains on certain occasions, like summer, festival, elections etc.

I went to Patna Sahib Gurudwara on 16th April 2009, and when we were coming back by the train no. 3049 i.e. Howrah - amritsar mail , my purse was stolen near the Dhanbad station.It conatin cash, digital camera, mobile , money bag and other knick knacks , calculated amount is approximately Rs. 17,000 to 20,000.
As we reported it to TTE , he said it is routine here, I can't help you. This sort of respoce we got from responsible railway oficers.
Please help me , and strict the police security , so, that none the other face the same situation.

I have booked a old steel box with house hold goods and a study table from Bhubaneswar railway station 20/02/09.After giving the booking amount the parcel booking clark asked me another Rs350/-,when I asked why? He answered 'for coolie to load the items'.Is it fact that consumer has to pay the loading charges of the loader? till today i.e 25/02/09 my parcel is still lying in Bhubaneswer station. My receipy NO. is P12A572667 AND Another hand written No may be parcel No is BBS/2667/P/2/SC.If a railway Zonal head quarter has such a problem then think of small stations. I don't know parcel clearance within 24Hrs is how much true,becouse its not true on my part.
May be I have to chose a private operator next time to avoid curruption.

Railway Ministery must consider providing concession to Senior citizens on Monthly/quarterly season ticket.
This is concerning about misbehavior in Arakkonam Jn railway station ticket counter no 4, on 19 th feb 2009 at 11.05 pm (Night).
I was going to buy advance ticket for next day to chennai journey, due to heavy queue in morning i always brought ticket at one day before. when i back to home i ask the Up and Down ticket for Arakkonam Jn to Chennai Central was Rs 24 (EMU train) i gives Rs 30 to the respective counter no 4 ticket staff (that time the only counter will open at 11.05 pm on 19 feb) he said to me give Rs 4 as change, but that time i have no change, In behind they displayed Rs 5 coins and Rs 1 coins rows, i asked regarding no change from myself, he said then you come next day to brought a ticket! why they will interface my personal work to suggest to come on next day. i will argue with him, this is not to tell like to come tomorrow, i continued argue with him he suddenly said go out and collect from beggar, i am very heartbreaking about that word he said, I will leave that place without brought a ticket. Rest of night I am no sleep due to that word alleged on ticket counter staff.
Please take into the consideration for higher authorities in this issue, to make cruel action that will misbehavior the fellow passenger

But the TTE didn't allow him to travel,because he was saying that the ticket is not valid and the my uncle's name is not there in the chart. He has allocated the same seat to somebody else. So he didn't allow my uncle to travel and he missed the train also. Kindly look into this matter and kindly let me know that why this is happened. Kindly do the needful to refund the charges

Frankly speaking, I found Allahabad station is the laziest stations in respect of train operation. From Allahabad to Mumbai & Varanasi side the train stoppages is more than required. I have passed Allahabad five times up & down in a month. The trains were: ShivGanga, Lichavi , Kamayani , Mahanagari etc and each time I found the stoppage of the train at Allahabad jn is more than one hour . When I saw the time table I found that stoppage is only 25 to 30 Minutes for each train. I asked the TTE then he told me that this is common practice of this station since he is habituated for this last two year. According to him, Controller and General Manager are responsible for that. He also mentioned that Delhi Bound train not delayed so much and he also given the example of your kharagpur station where efficiency is quite good despite the same type of situation. This is the matter of serious concern & If General Manager is responsible then he should resign immediately. Now I can understand why the progress of India is slow despite of all efforts made by government.
I had booked a ticket now from PHULERA JN to DURG JN with Boarding point as JAIPUR.
IRCTC.COM shows the Available seats as 4 Numbers while booking but when ticket is booked it is as WL even though seats are available from PHULERA JN now also
This is not right as IRCTC is charging customer from PHULERA JN only BUT giving the Berths as per availability at JAIPUR JN.
I see this as IRCTC misguiding the customer while booking and keeping customer in false assumption that he is going to get the CONFIRMED SEATS

To day morning , we went to get the return reservation done by Kalka mail from New Delhi to Howrah by Sleeper class for 21 oct 2008 at Baruipur ,Kolkata Rly reservation counter. before we stood in queue, we checked the availability in the internet and found it is waiting list "7",but the reservation clerk told no room. again we checked in the internet and we could find waiting list "8" now it is 10 past 10AM, and still it is showing waiting list "8". Once we asked the reservation clerk to write the status on my reservation slip , he refused to write anything. Even to talk anything ,he told me to be in queue again.
With a great hope we are writing the matter to you, so that like us , no other passenger is sufferer for simply the arrogance of an employee.

Indian Railways is supposed to be the biggest railways in the world. But to my dismay the services provided by the Indian railways are degrading day by day. I am not sure of the reason?
I booked my bike from Pune on 22nd September 2008 to Satna (Bilty number:- B 672754) and it's not reached at Satna till date. When i contated the authorities they have 100s of different reasons and excuses for the same.
Can you please help me so that the pain i am getting through can be reduced and i can get my bike here in Satna asap.

I am Ganesh, I booked my bike from Korba (Chhattisgarh)to Kachiguda (Hyderabad) on 24.07.08. Till date I am unable to retire the bike from kachiguda raiway parcel office. When am I go to kachiguda to collect as the officials at kachiguda parcel office informed me that my bike has not reached at kachiguda parcel office. they don't give me proper responce about my bike then I went rail nilayam which is at secunderabad and I gave a complaint they traceout my bike and found that it was at yaswantpur but the yaswantpur persons are not send to my bike.Everyday I am travelling to kachiguda parcel office to trace whereabouts of my bike which is booked wide receipt no. 245287, dated 24.07.08. I I kindly request you to track my vehicle at earliest please inform me the earliest date of delivery. Otherwise I am likely to lodge a complaint in police station about the loss of my vehile. Your early response in this regard is higly appreciated to reduce the misunderstandings between me and railways.

Dear Sir/Mam,
Booked ticket in Aug. Kranti 3A from Delhi to Mumbai in name of my wife Rakhi Gupta age 34 PNR no, : 2450053965 Transaction ID: 0052670765 on date 18/6/08.
On internet on date 20/6/08 the status was confirmed but when my wife with 2 kids reached Nizamuddin station to board the train TT refused to let them in train because her name was not in Chart. On internet the status is still showing confirmed with birth B8, 32.
She was forced to go back today. When she tried to approach the head ticketing at staion no body listened to her.
You are requested to look into the matter on priority and give me full refund because i am not able cancel the ticket from internet.
Also give me the next day confirmed ticket for her because she missed the train because of railways mistake.
The railways should take care in future because today she travelled from Nabha to Delhi to catch the train and cost her huge money and harassment.
