MouthShut launches new section to allow employees review their companies

30 September, 2008
User-generated reviews site MouthShut.com , which claims to have about 2.4 million registered users and reviews of over one lakh products and services, has launched an online platform, called Employers , that enables employees to review the companies they are working in currently or have served in the past.

According to MouthShut, the new platform will help jobseekers to read feedback about a company where they are pursuing employment and decide whether to accept a job in that particular company or not. The initiative is also expected to enable the human resource department of companies to better understand their employees’ mindset and work on improving the HR practices.

“This platform is an extension to the consumer platform of MouthShut.com,” Faisal Farooqui, CEO, MouthShut, has said. “After successfully leading the consumer space for so many years, we are confident that the platform will provide the right content for both the employer as well as employee.”

What Mouthshut is doing is beneficial for the majority, which are the employees. No one wants to work in a company where a lot of bad experiences are bound to happen to an employee.

What is faisal up to nowadays ? Shocking ! Mouthshut itself was a copy of dooyoo & ciao with minor changes. Then he came up with dekhona which was a poor copy of youtube. And now this employeee feedback thing, which is again copy of vault, wetfeet and others. Hey faisal do copy the good practices & ethics along with the concepts from other sites.
Hey Matrix or whoever you are ;) jobsnetwork is a nice site.
Thanks for the info.

This is nothing new, vault.com already has this, though you have to pay for the premium content. Employee experiences are very subjective. And how can one trust mouthshut on this ? Mouthshut is a fraudlent and shady setup. It censors or deletes genuine reviews from its site on orders of corporates it has tied up, with for money of course. They spam in US and UK promising money in exchange for points earned on reviews. The payment never comes through and if one complains loud enough, they disable the reviewer's login id. Now the reviewer cannot erase his review and mouthshut gets to keep it for free. User profiles are disabled or deleted at the whim and fancy of the CEO and staff without prior notice or consent. Messages sent using their internal messaging system M2M is heavily censored.

Interesting. Wonder how this is going to play out n the coming months, i would be curious to know what the ratio between existing vs previous employees would be , whether HR is going to make efforts in ensuring good reviews 'go up' and whether this is going to turn out to be more of a venting ground for bad experiences than logical discussions...

Kudos to Mouthshut.com and Jobsnetwork.in to launch such an interesting and helpful concept for both employee and employers.

Ya i have already registered on one such employees' reviews forum http://www.jobsnetwork.in Its a very well maintained and well driven forum.Remember one thing jobsnetwork.in is not a job portal its a community where employees can give their reviews and others can have it and vice versa. So just exchange your experience with your words.

This is great. I think Job portals should come up with aspect in their portals because that's where you'll find relevant audience. Making job portals Web 2.0 friendly. Naukri, Times...are you listening?
