Nautanki.tv ties-up with IndiaFm.com to offer Bollywood video content

by Asfaq Tapia

Online video channel Nautanki.tv has launched a new channel called Bollywood Hungama that offers Bollywood video clips from the IndiaFM.com library. According to Sunil Nair, CEO of Nautanki.tv, the new channel is currently showing 15 minutes of content on the latest Bollywood gossip and news in India.

Nautanki.tv was initially launched to provide exclusive in-house produced video content. But recently the company has partnered with other companies to distribute their video content through its network and has also introduced a number of channels including Games2win, FashionTV and Saptrangi – Marathi on its site.

When asked why this shift in strategy, Sunil Nair said, “Original content is expensive to produce over a long period of time. Moreover, content providers are willing to partner with Nautanki.tv which gives variety to our users.” Nair also told AlooTechie that Nautanki.tv would also be launching a new Zoom TV channel by 22nd May 2008. [While writing the story, the Zoom TV channel was already live on Nautanki.tv.]

According to Sunil Nair, Nautanki.tv distributes its video content through 3200 widgets that together attract 5 million views a day. The company has a 15 per cent revenue sharing agreement with the website publishers that host the Nautanki.tv widgets on their websites. Nair also adds that only 27 per cent of the Nautanki.tv users are from metros.
