Nielsen Online enters India; Karthik Nagarajan to head its India operations

Nielsen Online, which is a part of The Nielsen Company (formerly AC Nielsen) and offers measurement and analysis of online audiences, consumer behaviour and advertising firm, has launched its services in India. The company has also appointed Karthik Nagarajan, associate director, client solutions, information technology practice, The Nielsen Company, to head its online venture in India.

“Our services are under trial right now by some clients and it would be ready with its first report and service offering in the next 3-4 months,” Mark Ottaway, vice president, regional services, Asia-Pacific, Nielsen Online, has told Business Standard.

Nielsen Online will launch two of its services AdRelevance and Market Intelligence in India. AdRelevance is a service to track and analyze online advertising, industry trends, advertiser activities and campaigns. Whereas Market Intelligence would give detailed demographic audience measurement reports.

This is welcome news. Especially since India is the 2nd most rapidly growing internet country.

I guess it's a good addition .

Anywhich way there is bound to have never ening debate on finding the "Right Way" of calulutaiong ROI & cost justification methodology in online market.

Entry of players like Neilsen will definitely, enhance the confidence matrix for poplulation involved in any/various kinds of Online intiatives.
