PoolMyCar.in launched to facilitate corporate car pooling

13 October, 2008
PoolMyCar.in offers corporate car pooling service with employee code verification system instead of normal car pooling. According to Vinay Arora, who started the online service as a social initiative to save environment and reduce traffic on the roads, PoolMyCar.in acts like a private and internal car pooling website for any company which gets registered on the website.

“As per a survey done by PoolMyCar.in, most people are ready to pool car if pool partner is either known or working in some known corporate so that his credentials can be verified. But the biggest problem was how to find that person?” Vinay Arora has said. PoolMyCar.in seeks to address this problem.

According to Vinay Arora, “All the users of PoolMyCar.in are required to provide their company name, official email id and employee code. This enables users to verify each other’s credentials from the respective HR departments.”

Good initiative. Hope this intiative gives some changes to traffic woos of the cities like bangalore, cochin :)

Companies should encourage people to do car pooling by offering some incentives, in turn they save lot of their parking space as well. I saw companies in US offering some incentives ($100/month or so ) to its employees for doing car pooling. they are passing the money saved by them for not renting the parking space.
