SavitaBhabhi influences 11-year-old boy to send obscene mail to his teacher

05 August, 2008
SavitaBhabhi.com, a cartoon porn site owned by Canada-based Indian Porn Empire, has reportedly influenced an 11-year-old boy, in Bangalore, who sent out an obscene mail to one of his teachers. The teacher complained to the cops and the Bangalore Police booked the child under the ITA 2000 law which carries a possible jail term of five years.

Fortunately, the parents and the police resolved the issue in a mature fashion with the best interests of the child at heart, reports TechGoss. “But there is no news about the Police having taken any action so far on the website,” writes a cyber law expert Na Vijayashankar, also known as Naavi in Cyberspace. Naavi asks, “Will the Police recognize that it is the influencer who needs to be punished more than the influenced?”

I wonder what was the teacher thinking when she was making the complaint to the police. Didn't any one of us fancy at least one of our teachers when we were young? The kid is only expressing what he learnt from his environment. The key stakeholders in the case were parents, school principal and the teacher herself who was entrusted with the responsibility of helping the child grow into a responsible adult. With this, she has traumatised the child for life. It would have been better if all the stakeholders got together and made that kid understand the consequences of his action.

About reporting this story, I do not see anything wrong about it. It just goes to expose an instance of the kind of influence media including internet has on the kids. And therefore bestows us adults with even a greater responsibility on how to make our part of internet a more considerate medium.

He's not promoting the site dudes! If I tell you about a new video Osama sent out yesterday, you're going to turn around and accuse me of promoting Al-Qaeda or what? He is just assuming his audience is mature and discerning enough to take news for news and make of it, for whats its worth to them individually. Its not sensationalism. This cartoon porn site is already all over the news. The newspapers, T.V. news channels have had their field day over it.

Its just so kindergarten to suggest that Alootechie is risking their reputation or compromising on their standards by reporting about a school boy who got himself into trouble, influenced by cartoon porn of the viral kind. Thats a very by-the-book approach to the kind of content you guys think you approve of.

This news sounds just as relevant to most of us out there, than the $Million M&A's, Multi-crore money pumps and High-profile job jumps that we read about everyday. And like Gaurav said, Grow up! News like this doesnt make alootechie porn-happy just as much as it doesnt make you a porn-addict for reading it.

Anyways, so how many here went all Ctrl-D on 'savitabhabhi.org' before returning here to tell alootechie to smarten up? :D

I don't understand this. What's wrong with reporting a news about a porn site?

It is really strange that people are OK with posts on Uday Zokarkar and LD Sharma. A post with names of random people are clearly promotional. But what the heck, they are still informational. I got to know about these people.

Porn is a legitimate 'Entertainment' business. I don't have any numbers, but US porn industry would be bigger than all of the Indian Internet industry.

Grow Up!

Dissapointing to see alootechie report on sites like this one. If you hide behind the logic of reporting on everything of 'relevance'online, then you might as well start a meter on the most popular porn sites in India too. That would also grab reader interest. But noone does it, right?

I have been following alootechie since its incubation a couple of years back. And it absolutely distresses me to see this kind of 'news' being reported on a till now, faithfully to the point, newsletter.
I wont make any more comments/judgements on the role of media and blah blahs, but i sincerely hope my thoughts are not entirely lost on a really great team.
