25 January, 2010
Sify.com, in association with MingleBox.com, has launched an online education channel that will offer information on educational institutes, courses offered, campus photos and reviews posted by students and alumni. The new channel will also allow students to prepare for entrance exams, check results and then apply online to educational institutes.

“With the number of students seeking admissions increasing every year, students and parents are moving to the internet for information on colleges, institutes, courses available and entrance tests,” Venkata Rao Mallineni, head, portals and consumer marketing, Sify Technologies, has said. “We are happy to have MingleBox.com as a partner, for they have a deep understanding of the educational requirements in India, and an enviable track record of delivering best-in-class solutions.”

Kavita Iyer, co-founder and CEO, MingleBox.com, has said, “We are very pleased to be associated with Sify.com, one of India’s popular consumer portals. I believe this association adds to the reputation of MingleBox.com as the best education site in India. It is in keeping with our objective of helping more and more Indian students make the right choices about their education and career.”

This is a very unique concept indeed. I don't think I have come across any platform which offers information on educational institutes, courses offered, campus photos and reviews posted by alumnis, question is how would these people get alumnis to write for them.

On the other side preparing for entrance exams etc is already existing in India and IMHO will be ok.

Does not seem to be all that beneficial for Sify. Minglebox has a lot to gain from this and Sify, as always, seems to lose out on the plot... This is purely minglebox wrapped in a Sify wrapper...

Oh well..How the once mighty have fallen...
