Sutra HR launches SutraJobs.com for startups

10 October, 2008
Morpheus Venture Partners backed Sutra HR has launched SutraJobs.com , a jobs site for startups and emerging companies. According to Sutra HR, the job board offers details such as company culture, founder profiles, mission statement, employees’ quotes and photo album, besides job details.

Sameer Guglani of MVP has said, “Building world class teams, while keeping the hiring costs in control, is a critical need for each startup and emerging company. That’s exactly the need SutraJobs.com is addressing. MVP is confident that SutraJobs is going to take startup hiring to a different level.”

Waqar Azmi, founder and CEO, Sutra HR, has said, “Our offline service, Sutra HR, is not affordable to all startups, which is where SutraJobs.com steps in as a free service designed especially for cash strapped startups who cannot afford to spare previous capital on HR Services.”

“Being free to employers, SutraJobs.com does not charge for providing talent. Its model targets the passive and semi-active job seeker, without letting privacy concerns getting in the way,” Waqar Azmi has added. “We have found that not all people are comfortable in uploading their resumes on job sites, mainly because their current employer would come to know about their plans.”

When asked about the revenue model of SutraJobs.com, Waqar Azmi has said, “We intend to make money by advertising, providing branding solution to startups and emerging company, and by selling premium posting that could be displayed on the homepage.” According to Azmi, the company may also start charging a fee for job posting but that would be “very nominal”.
