TimesJobs.com has said its two-day job fair organised at Kandivali and Vashi in Mumbai on 18th and 19th October witnessed over 26,400 jobseekers walking in out of which more than 3,500 candidates were short-listed for further interview. About 35 companies from various sectors including education, ITES, IT, construction and BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) participated at the fair.
While talking about the advantages of organising job fair, Mohit Chopra, national head, job fairs and service delivery, TimesJobs.com, told AlooTechie, “We had numerous people registering for the job fair online through our website. Many of them were first-time visitors and we had a lot of traffic on the site when the registration period was on.”
Speaking about the revenues, Mohit Chopra said, “Our revenues were earned in the form of sponsorship money and participation fee paid by the companies from various industries. We did not charge any entry fee from the candidates.” Chopra, however, refused to divulge the financial details about the revenues earned from the fair.
Identifying the verticals that provided most number of jobs, Mohit Chopra said, “Primarily, the BPO and the IT industry gave out most number of jobs. However, many candidates found their desired jobs in banking, insurance and finance sector as well.”
On how the company had promoted the job fair, Chopra said, “We had extensively used the print, radio and online medium to reach the people. Besides, we had also undertaken several below the line (BTL) activities including road shows to promote the event at a national level.”
