topCATcoaching.com launched to help IIM aspirants prepare for CAT online

Delhi-based Prism Education has launched topCATcoaching.com, an online education portal that aims to provide tutoring, study material, practice tests and doubt answering facility online for CAT (Common Admission Test), an entrance exam conducted by IIMs for their flagship 2-year MBA course.
Manish Gulati, founder and CEO, Prism Education, has said, “As topCATcoaching.com courses are available online, it is accessible to aspirants in small towns and cities where aspirants have to struggle to get quality and economical coaching to compete with aspirants from Tier-A towns. With the help of technology, top faculty and economical courses, we intend to bring more deserving aspirants to premier management institutes.”
Vivek Gupta, co-founder and business head, topCATcoaching.com, has added, “IIMs have announced that CAT is going to be conducted on computer this year. Over 4 lakh candidates are expected to take this exam. This makes it necessary for CAT aspirants to practice on computer. We believe that topCATcoaching.com has necessary resources to help its registered users crack the prestigious exam.”
I have serious doubts. One of the co founders Vivek was responsible for studyplaces miserable performance. Anyway I wish him success this time.

This is a good move by Prism infotech. however, the success of this largely depends on the revenue model. the CAT content has now become very good through lot many coaching institutes and hence i dont see content as a differentiator. it will be mainly the accessibility and the revenue model which will make the difference

The first option is certainly true, I am extremely fast. I run Marathons too. My best time is 3 hr 45 mins for 42.2 Kms :-)
Hey Manish... good job done on design & product site. You didn't commented on the second part. I think you are a smart guy, but you can't plan and deliver a site like this in 6 months time. Specially when you launch a quality site. Either you have a huge design & development team or you are doing this from long back. Don't take my comments personally, it's just my views. Keep up the good work.
Info, I personally believe and have proven Internet sites can be delivered in 4-5 months. I do have a experienced, passionate and hardworking team of 32 people (fulltime + Part-time). I dont wish to spark debate but there are software development methodologies which facilitate quick launches viz. SCRUM etc. So trust me, a site like this can be launched in 6 months (180 days) by passionate and experienced professionals. Even I took same time for Shiksha.com was launched in 6-7 months from a public company. Hence my point is proven. Lets enjoy this good moment my friend!!!
Fantastic. Letting you go must be a huge loss for Infoedge. Somebody who can deliver a site like this in 1 quarters is hard to get.

Hey.. Manish Gulati is a X-Info Edge (naukri group). According to the info i have, he is the same guy who has done shiksha. And shiksha is a year old site. Either is very fast or extremely smart to plan this while working. Both sites are in education domain... can't be a coincident. Anyway a good job done by him on both the ventures. I wish him good luck.
Site looks professional and good. I am not a student but i liked the neatness. It's nicely done, best in it's space. Though the inner, login pages could have been better when you compared with the homepage(landing). But still kudos to the team.
