Times Internet Limited (Indiatimes.com) in partnership with US-based mobile gaming company Hovr has launched an ad-supported mobile gaming portal GameZone that would allow mobile subscribers in India to download and play mobile games for free.According to TIL, the partnership eliminates top barrier to downloading mobile content – cost, spearheading the mass market adoption of mobile gaming in the fastest growing mobile market in the world.
India’s mobile subscriber base is one of the largest and fastest growing in the world, with more than 235 million subscribers today and growing at over five million subscribers a month.
“Based on the sheer number of mobile subscribers and consumer interest in ad-supported mobile content, we believe that mobile marketing is poised to overtake online marketing in India within the next few years,” Dinesh Wadhawan, CEO, Times Internet, has said.

"
One can’t keep on doing the same stuff over and over again across all kinds of brands. Every brand has a unique feature and this needs to be attributed through innovative marketing initiatives. Unless the people working in this medium can innovate, spends will not grow on internet. "
And all 235 million have phones supporting download and also have GPRS. Their addressable market is not more than 2-5 milion in the best case.
