redBus.in now available in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam

11 March, 2008
Online bus tickets company redBus.in has introduced its website in five local languages -- Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. With this move, redBus claims to have become India’s first travel site to go multi-lingual.

Phanindra Sama, CEO, redBus, has said, “Bus travel has a very wide segment of users -- right from agents, distributors to end-consumers. A large segment prefers their local language. Keeping this in mind we decided to add this feature on our site. This makes us India’s first travel site to pull it off.”

Mayank Bidawatka, head of marketing, redBus, has said, “Our site is accessed by many who prefer the local language. Secondly, we noticed many local language blogs and sites that are doing very well. This was a clue that customers prefer this to English.”
