Google to power Sify mail, chat service

Sify Technologies and Google have signed a deal under which Google Apps suite of communication and collaboration tools, including email, chat and online documents, will now power Sify mail and chat, as well as other applications using the Google Apps platform. According to Sify, the company will start launching these services for its users in the coming months.

“Our agreement with Google makes superior applications available for communications and collaboration, coupled with our understanding of the needs of Indians, on our popular portal Sify.com,” Raju Vegesna, chairman and CEO, Sify Technologies, has said. “This agreement enhances our relationship with Google beyond powering the search on Sify.com.”

Shailesh Rao, managing director, Google India, has said, “We are pleased to work with Sify to offer its customers access to our leading communication and collaboration tools. Our companies share a vision of giving consumers innovative choices that will change the way they interact with each other and the world.”

Sify.com is having some browser problems. Home page is not openning properly with IE and Mozilla.

Please tell me solution please.

This is the joke of the day. Why will I go to Sify to use Google mail. Last nail in the coffin for Sify.

Most depressing news of the day.

Sify mail was terrible, but still expected Sify to somehow hold out to Google pressure. Now it has basically accepted defeat to Google... Soon google ads will also power all of sify.
At least, they should have used yahoo mail or live mail. But google???

Tragic. Now there is less choice for consumers.
